Would You Do This to Your Yard ?

Part of the area behind the house that has poorly growing lawn, would be a perfect spot for a vegetable garden, as it gets lots of sunshine.

The only purpose other than a lawn that this area serves is.........well......nothing.

The area I used for a small vegetable garden last year doesn't get as much sunshine as it should.

Would you dig up part of the lawn and take the chance that it'll make things back there look stupid with a vegetable garden right in the middle of everything? Or, would you consider a vegetable garden more important? The yard and garden aren't important to anyone else in the family, so the decision is mine.

If I dug it up and made a couple of raised beds to grow vegetables, there's really nothing stopping me or any future owner, from growing grass again if wanted, right?

I'd love to hear any and all opinions and/or suggestions. =:)
