I'm in zone 3 and everyone has swedish aspens ,it's the new thing latley. I want to take a few cuttings this spring and plant them.My book on propergation says to cut a branch off before it buds and trim the side branches off, make a hole with a rod ,then push the cutting into it and thats it.I did this with poplars which I beleive are the same group, and it worked with half of them. Should I do the same with the swedish aspens?

BTW whats the difference between lombardy poplar and swedish aspens? They sure look similar but I was told they dont grow in zone 3.I saw them in warmer areas.
