Are you using regular bulbs?...Not sure if it would make a difference.

I'm envious. I'm going to put off anything else I need to do tomorrow and get some things planted before it's too late.

Thanks! The bulbs are any 40 watt tubes. Just for starting plants I dont find they're picky about colour temperature. So far I'm growing lupines, petunias, 2 types of tomatoes, hot peppers, sweet William, cigar plant , arctic gentian, primula bulleyana (sp?), annual phlox, 2 types of asters, aruncus, oregano, salpiglossis, and abutylon.

Great set-up! I have one of those "greenhouse shelf" things with some lights, but not enough of them because several of them have died over the years. The shelves are in front of the patio door, so there's lots of light (always like to use free light if i can!). I'm going to run out of room, though, when the babies have to be transplanted, so i'll have to come up with something else.

Way to grow Gillian. I am actually gaining room under my lights now as I transplant seedlings in the green house.I still have seeds to sow right through to May.

I have lots left too, but since i don't have a greenhouse, i'll be doing them outside next month.

There are now blue salvia and nicotianas in there too. I'm done planting the indoor stuff now. I have one more thing to winter sow, then it's just direct sowing a few things in April-May.

I never meant to have tomatoes that big in March. The seeds were from the box of seeds and they just said "orange banana" which lead my mind to hot banana peppers. But I have since discovered that orange banana is also an heirloom tomato, LOL. I'm glad to have them though, they sound good for canning.

Looking good! My DH made me a similar one but as yet, I have no where to put it. :( Only started some hollyhocks and tomatoes yesterday, in my huge south kitchen windows.
You'll have tomatoes in May by the looks of it! Yay! This year I am focusing on some more peonies, lilies and irises. :)

My wife does only tomatoes,..seeds put in about 3 weeks ago, last week I purchased from IKEA a small one foot energy efficient fixture and set it on top of the tray, seems to work, took it off today,...need transplanting soon.
