OMG I'm sorry but that made me laugh. That sounds like something Chuck would say. He can come across a little gruff but he's great really.

I don't usually phone, I just fax or email orders.

In my limited experience (I've only ordered from him once) I agree with northspruce about Chuck - he is awesome. I would definitely describe him as kind of short on the pleasantries...but when you get your order, and he sent you expensive gift plants, healthy plants and on time...I was completely happy with it. Plus, he does have a fair bit of info on his website.

I also prefer to email my orders and questions..I'm not a good "phone talker". I think better when I write things out.

I ordered from Chapmans for the first time last year. Before I ordered, I emailed him and asked questions about some of the iris he had. He replied quickly and answered my questions. My order came in the fall and I rec'd 3 extra plants. One of these (Forever Violet)is now flowering and the rest are doing well. I would have no problem ordering from him again. Marg

By the way, Chuck is right to tell you to ask us. We buy a lot of irises from him and see how they do. You can't lose with the dwarf bearded varieties. Tall bearded are iffy in our climate. I have some that have survived to bloom and some that have not. Those that survive can take years to bloom and they tend to multiply slowly. They are so worth it when you see them though!
