Any grass that went to seed naturally last year will have scattered its seed in the fall and that seed will already be in the ground waiting to sprout. So I don't see any harm in planting your grass seed now. You might get quicker results if you wait awhile, but if you want to get that task done early, go for it.

I agree with don... a little snow or frost won't hurt your grass seed. I'm assuming you mean lawn seed? I think a bigger issue in the spring is runoff washing your seed away, so as long as you're past the big melt down you should be fine.
