| Can one air layer a Ure pear? Has anyone successfully done this? My neighbour has a Ure and has given me permission to try layering. Please post your pros and cons about this.

| You can try,...nothing to loose, it might work, when successful in rooting, it might not be what you're looking for. I have done it on plum, after it rooted in a year or two I transplanted and it just didn't want to grow. I have now another one of the same cultivar, Sprouts Sunshine, ...will see the outcome, sometimes it's not worth it, because you're loosing the virgoures rootstock habit. Konrad |
