How did you dry them? in the oven or food dehydrator, did you cut them in half or a quarter, slices? I heard Tomaccio is also a drying tomato with good flavor. I've eaten them raw but never had any last long enough to dry. C

they were dried in an excalibur at the in-laws
i cut them into thick slices before putting them in the dehydrator

we had some again tonight on naan bread pizza with a nice cheddar

Looks great. Where would one get those seeds. I love sundried tomatoes altho I doubt they are really dried in the sun....... or are they?

I dried tomatoes last year in the oven, I cut small roma's in half lengthwise and baked them at 200F for probably 8 hours. I ate them up in no time, on pizza, in rice, all by themselves, didn't matter, they were incredibly delicious. I'm pretty sure I tossed in olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt before baking.

How did you store them afterwards, freeze, in glass jar in fridge? Cheryl

Pudge, I've done something similar and you're right... they are delicious. I brushed them with olive oil and garlic, basil and salt and pepper. I froze them, but they disappeared quickly.... we liked them on everything.
One batch I thought I'd ruined because they were dried up, but they were the best 'chips' I ever ate.

I just kept mine in the fridge - like I said, they didn't last too long (insert sheepish grin here)

I'm hoping to dry more this year but I'm only growing Juliet and Sun Sugar ... I suspect they'll taste pretty good dried, too :)

Sun sugar it my all time fav. I also grow the sungella from T&M (i think) it's the larger sun sugar. yummy!!!
