My Poor Homeless Roses

My roses are homeless =:(

All the rose discussions prompted me to buy 3 rose bushes without having a clue where I'll put them. I have an over abundance of sun, so that's not a probem. It's where to put them.

It sounds like they can be moved if I change my mind after planting them. However, would they be better staying in their pots for a few more weeks until I find and prepare a semi-permanent spot, or should I quickly dig them some holes and plant them for now? I don't imagine they like to be moved very often.

Also, they're not looking as nice as some that have obviously just come freshly out of a greenhouse. ( Two of them have supposedly survived through last winter, which is good, right?) If I end up leaving them in the pots would a few inches of compost in the top of the pot, watered well, do them any good, or should I maybe give them some tomato food? I hear they like that.

Oh, and one more thing. There's a few branches with wax covering the cut ends. I assume I should prune that off ?

Thanks girls (and guys)
