How about Tartarian Dogwood ?

O.K. This is my last question about my problem area between the house and garage. I Promise.

How about Tartarian Dogwood? Schreimers website says it can even tolerate some standing water and doesn't mind part shade. Does anyone have one of these? If so, is it fairly disease resistant?

I want it to block the view of ugly fencing, etc., and it says it will grow to be about 8 feet, which is perfect. Not too overwhelming a size for that area.

Any thoughts or comments greatly appreciated, as usual =:)

I have one. It has never been bothered by disease or bugs and now after 10 years I'm just starting to have to prune it a little. Very well behaved in my yard. It is in full sun all day long.

My mom also has one and it has grown very fast for her, it is also in full sun. I think mine have to battle it out with the chokecherries behind them for nutrients and moisture.

A friend of mine also had one and after a few years of battling aphids on it, she finally got rid of it entirely.

A neighbouring house also has one and prunes it to a round ball that (IMO) looks ridiculous but whatever floats your boat, I guess. It gets morning sun and shade for the rest of the day.

Sounds like it's worth a try. Now to find one to buy before they're all gone =:)
