Pleasant Supprise

Got a regular MacKenzie bag of Marigold seeds from store while ago and it's been growing. Yesterday it started blooming. Oh it is so much better looking than the picture on the seed bag. I'm not sure what I got now. Is this still marigold? lol

RE: Pleasant Supprise

I would say definately a marigold! Could be one of many mutations or just a single, simple bloomer like a pot marigold.

RE: Pleasant Supprise

Yes it is definately a marigold. It is a Triploid marigold. It looks like sunburst yellow. Go to stokes seeds or any of the other seed companies catalogue and look up Triploid marigolds

The double ones that you are used to seeing are french marigolds

RE: Pleasant Supprise

Hello digicam,
your supposedly marigold is definitely not!!! What you have blooming is a Cosmos sulphureus and the bud showing in the background of one of your pic led me to identify it as such.

Oopie, you maybe right! I could have mixed these two seed bags when planting them. Now the pictures make so much more sense lol !!
