I've had more luck with fuchsias in the shade. Not that i've had a lot of luck with them, really. Mine have always been in a container and they seem to like moisture and humidity.

I've never grown Fuchsias, but my mother-in-law does. Always in the shade, though, in a hanging pot.

I just have to say I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one who uses "occasions" as an excuse to buy something I want =:) Cheers, Northspruce =:)

I finally had great success with them last year. East facing. No wind.

Any west or south exposure, they get burned to a crisp.

Haven't tried them in the ground but 2 years ago when I had them in a large container, I made the mistake of having them in an area that was too exposed to wind and they went downhill from there.

Thanks for the advice. This sounds like it might work. It has east exposure and goes behind the cedar after noon. There is no wind particularly in my yard at all as it's in the city and well treed.
