My vote,..if they don't perform, get rid of, it would take a long time for recovery and most likely have the same thing next year.

If I wanted a golden juniper here, what would be a hardy, good performer for our climate please?

Do you still have a warranty on it? I find evergreens are touch and go the first couple of years - even hardy ones.

Apparently many have rather weak root systems so it makes them rather vulnerable to winterkill when getting established.

shazam, thank you for your reminder! I do have the receipt and I just called the place where I got it from and it's still under warranty until this weekend! So I will just get that taken care of soon.

shazam, I just came home with a new Gold Coast juniper! They allowed me to exchange it but there was no Lime Glow juniper, but there were some lovely Gold Coast junipers instead. So I was able to switch it - in fact, I believe that Gold Coast may be hardier than the Lime Glow anyway.

Thank you again for your help! Now, I am going to dig out this poor thing and replace it with Gold Coast after tomorrow, when we are supposed to get a ton of rain....
