Tango Weigela

I bought 2 tango weigelas from Canadian Tire last week, they looked fairly healthy although there was some droopy foliage on them at the time. (Couldn't get them anywhere else here, so I had to settle for less-than-babied shrubs). Anyway, we planted and watered them, and then had that severe frost a couple of nights later. I covered all of the new shrubs in the garden to protect their foliage and flower buds that night. The poor little weigelas foliage turned black and mushy, so today I removed all the dead leaves and now they look like bare shrubs in early spring. I am wondering if they will produce more foliage this season....asking for blooms seems like too much but does anyone think that assuming the shrubs are otherwise healthly and just fell victim to a hard frost that they will come back and look alive this summer?
