I have a lot of big bumblebees this year as well as more honeybees than last year. We also had a cold winter for this area so I can`t offer any explanations as to the difference!

i, too, am seeing more bees than normal. I have more bees than flowers in my yard!

mhayes.... I'm also in MN, about 30 miles NNE of Brainerd. My blueberries are about mid to late in the bloom and they have been load with bees, especially bumblebees. Last year it was cold during the bloom and the bees were very scarce. I agree with beegood, some of the bumbles are huge this year! I think that I saw one that had landing lights.

Last year I felt like I had barely any bees at all. I was worried.

This year though I have bees all over the place. Unfortunately they get run through the mower every time I mow because we have so many attractive-to-bees dandelions in our "lawn"(essentially pasture brome grass that we mow!)

well I was worried but all my fruit trees and blueberry bushes seem to be setting fruit. They all managed to get pollinated somehow

I've only seen one massive bumblebee this year.

Too cold I'm sure .
