My Bombshell hydrangea was a small 1 or 2 gallon shrub when I planted it about 2 years ago. It has remained to be quite small. After the long, long winter that we had, it has decided not to leaf out at all. However, when I scratch the bark, the stems are still green underneath. So it surely is still alive, but it just will not leaf out!!!
On the other hand, the two nearby Little Lime which were planted at around the same time has leafed out beautifully already.
What should I do with this Bombshell? Isn't it strange that it's totally alive and yet it just will not leaf out? What is your recommendation please?
