Has anyone had experience with Salvia Madeline?

I saw this absolutely gorgeous perennial with lovely purple AND white flowers last weekend at Lowes. It was so stunning that I almost just had to take her home!!! But it was not inexpensive and I really did not have a place for it, so I finally just put it down.

Anyway, has anyone had any experience with this new salvia in our climate at all? How hardy is it? Would love to hear your experience with it. Thanks in advance!

The only sage I can grow is May Night, or something similar. Tried Caradonna a few times and it never returned. I certainly wouldn't spend a great deal of money on it, especially if it says it's borderline hardy, but that's just me...

Donna, thanks. I so agree with you - I probably should just leave it alone. After this past winter, I am just less likely to be adventurous with borderline hardy plants...!
