I am enjoying them I love Irises they are so feathery.

Beautiful, Ginny! I guess I love them for a lot of reasons. First (and probably most important) they remind me of my grandma and grandpa. When I was a kid, their entire yard was edged by iris and peonies. Just beautiful! Then there is that beautiful smell... and the way they look! I only wish they lasted longer!

Joyce~ I also have many, many peonies (about 190 different cultivars) and daylilies too. I've said many times before that growing these flowers is like the circus or the fair coming to town. It doesn't last long but boy, what a show!

CL~ I love the really ruffley ones the best. I have a few that have not bloomed yet, that are really ruffled. I can hardly wait to see them. You'd never guess that I was always such a tomboy.??

Looks like your iris season is well under way! I have Acoma but she didn't do very well. We had Chapman at our horticulture meeting and he said it was because of the freeze-thaw cyle weather we've had. A few of my tall bearded also were short, flowering within the fans. He said he attributed that to the weather to.
Oh well, mine are all over now but daylilies are starting. Marg

Marg, Trail's End had an early season to which is now all done. Mine usually go until abot the first week in July with a few of the stragglers. The bed that is blooming now are all the newest ones witht heir maiden blooms. Lots of surprises. They don't get as much sun as my south house bed.And because it is late in the season and finally decided to get warm, they are not lasting more than a day! Strange all round.....

My daylilies won't start till late July probably. Peonies are not good this year. Really odd weather too but other reasons for mine in particular this year. My sob story.....
