See the clematis thread - maybe the weather hasn't been warm enough for them to break into full growth yet - maybe in a cold or shady spot?

I'd hang on and wait for a bit before writing them off - did you leave them in the ground? Do you need to provide "the evidence" for a refund? If not, I'd leave them.

I have a stranger in my garden - don't remember planting it, but then I went through my garden journal from a few years ago, and lo and behold, it's a hardy geranium I had written off. It hadn't grown for 3 years. I bought it mail-order, so I just emailed for a credit and left it to "provide organic material" (too lazy to dig it up).

If you can, be patient. I think from reading this forum a lot of things are late this year.

The asparagus FINALLY sprouted!!! Whoo-hoo!! Dug up the peonies and found something growing, so repoted them. Still nothing from the lily of the valley. :(
Yes, it's been chilly here, but i had the pots inside for a month before putting them outside in a 'warmer' spot. Maybe something more will happen yet! :) I'll put them in the ground when the permanent spots are ready for them.
