Once you get it planted, it will probably keep wilting during the day for awhile, but once it is settled it, it should stop wilting (except on exceptionally hot days)...mine did last year anyway. Mine winterkilled this spring, so I can't help you on size.

Is Brit Marie supposed to be a bit shorter? I have "The Rocket", and all my plants are 3'-4' tall. I believe i have two in one area and three in another. I would say you'd need more than three to fill a 10' space. Six, maybe.

Marcia, I did some searching and Britt Marie is supposed to be about 3' all around. The flowers might be shorter though, since they're a ball instead of the usual spike. If I'll need six I'd better start saving!! :O

Are you going to put anything else in the bed? Light shade and well draining with good moisture sounds like an ideal situation for many woodland type perennials. Have fun!

The bed is sort of the back corner of the northeast side of my house, against a dead end fence. I chose ligularias hoping they would get big and provide a nice backdrop. Further along the same bed I have hostas and primulas. The area has until now been filled with star-flowered false solomon's seal, mixed with blue bellflower. I have sprayed it with round up twice but I expect the bellflower will keep germinating for years so I want to keep it large, defined plants for now so I can control the bellflower between them. I'm not going to plant anything it's going to get mixed up in again.

3 will fill it in somewhat sparsely, which might be ok. Maybe some brunnera to fill in the gaps? Either way, ligularia is a lovely plant and they add real dimension to a shade garden.

And the bright yellow flower spike really stands out. I love mine!

I finally found the name of the one I have, it is also the rocket.I is indeed at least 4 ft high,but I have a neighbor and hers is at least 5 ft.Judy
