Do Ants do any harm to Lilies?

My lilies have a lot of ants crawling around in the blooms.

Do they do any harm?

Also, I've got little black beetles with a red stripe down their back. I thought they were the beetles that like roses, but they're "miles away" from the roses. Actually, the only ones I've found so far are crawling up the side of the house. Anyone know what they are? Good or bad?

No, ants won't harm your lilies, and the beetles are probably Maple Bugs, aka Boxelder Beetles. They won't harm any plants.
