Has anyone ever ordered from them? I've gone thru their catalogue and there are a few I would like to get. If you have ordered from them, what was your experience with them? Thanx. Marg

Never ordered from Canning although I have browsed through their site. Looks very interesting. Perhaps I will try them in the spring. Have you ever orderd from Mothers and Daughters Daylilies? They are absolutely amazing for quality and service! Huge fans and decent prices. Many selections as well.

I've never ordered from Mothers and Daughters but I'll have to have a look at their site. Usually I just order from Hemerocallis Montfort. Ever order from them? BTW, I saw the picture of Painter Man. Gorgeous! You must get some beautiful puppies from him.

Marg, the 13 daylilies I planted last year were from Mothers & Daughters.

They're blooming quite nicely right now =:)

I had never ordered or planted daylilies before, and the daughter I talked to was very helpful.

I've never ordered from Montfort but have them in my favorites to browse one rainly day. Another good daylily provider is Parkland Perennials out by Bruderheim AB. Bob is really great to work with but he doesn't have the selection that M&D has. His are, however, extremely hardy. :)

Painter says thanks Marg. He likes making puppies! His latest progeny, Gairden's Johnny Cash, is going to live with Ann and Bob Granatier at Trail's End Iris.

Thanks NAF. Good to know. I did see several I might order. Honalee, Monfort has a very large selection and sometimes choosing is reallyyy hard! I've never been disappointed with my purchases from them. Marg

    Marg,

Have you ever ordered from Nova Scotia Daylilies? Coral is so friendly and nice, and she has been very generous with extra fans. The plants are always large and in good shape. She also has an enormous selection. The ships expedited, so the shipping isn't bad.

I've also ordered from Hawkvalley Hemerocallis Haven(Joe Hawkins) which is really good also, and very generous and healthy, although he specialises in almost exclusively spider daylilies.

I have never ordered from Nova Scotia Daylilies. I'll have to check out their site. I'll also have to check out Hawk Valley. Thanks. Marg

Weeper ~ Tried to find a price list for NS Daylilies and nothing. Is there something I am missing here? Seems something has changed.

Another place I have orderd from in the past is Walnut Gardens. :)

Red Lane Gardens is the name of the daylily nursery in Nova Scotia. I also ordered from Carol this spring and found she had really nice plants and a good selection.

I have also ordered in the past from Betty at Floral and Hardy but find her plants on the smaller side but, she has an amazing selection of hosta, daylilies and heuchera.

Joe Hawkins has a wonderful selection of spider and ufo daylilies. I have both ordered plants as well as seeds from him...

Nova Scotia Daylilies is done shipping for this year; that is why the price list has been taken down. In November or so, she'll have the 2012 price list up, with what is available for that year. She is still selling, just not for this year!!

If you are wondering about what kind of prices she has; I find her very reasonable, and shipping isn't astronomical because she ships expedited.

One thing I've found with Hawkvalley is that he has many spiders/UFo's that are quite hard to find, and that is probably why the prices may seem high there. Nova Scotia daylilies has more of a mix of new and old daylilies, which results in some lower prices.

Thanks Weeper. That is what I was wondering.

Just finished my order for Floral and Hardy specials. Also bought some gift plants for friends. :)

I've also had good plants from Hosta Geek: Fundy Beauties.

Here is a link that might be useful: Hostageek

I also have had lots of great hosta and heuchera from the Hostageek! Pat is wonderful to deal with and the hosta are amazing in size and in root structure!

He should be having his annual fall sale shortly.

Just put in my order for his fall sale....on now. He is offering mature plants at slightly over regular prices this year as well. I have ordered from him in the past and he is a riot to do business with. Excellent quality and generous too! :)
