Looks like Sidalcea Malviflora to me...also called prairie mallow. I used to grow it, but it seeded all over and I got rid of it. Not mentioned in too many of the perennial books. It is in Lois Hole's book "Perennial Favorites"...for the prairies. She says it is uncommon but showy. Nice photos. Hope this helps. Jan from Winnipeg.

Thank you, yes! This one hasn't seeded anywhere else so far and it's so large and pretty in person. Hard to get a distant picture though, it kind of washes out when I try. I just love it, but will have to shift it a bit since it's outgrown the spot it's in.

I have it as well, another thing that reseeds all over, but not as badly as some things i have. Some years it gets that tall, but this year only about 3' so far.

I took those pics in the evening and kind of close-up. I can't get a decent shot of the whole plant. I wish the camera saw what I did.
