I've picked some Irises that I'd like to order from Chapman's.

Since I've never grown them (except for the ones that were here for probably 20 years when we bought the house and I've never even divided them) I'd really appreciate any advice you guys will give me.

I'd like to plant them in the same bed as the 3 ( 2 red 1 yellow) roses I bought. Will I overwater Irises if I do that?

My choices may be :

Autumn Jester

Banbury Ruffles

Blue Pools

Counting Sheep

Crystal Carpet

Forever Blue

Haunts Me

Lighten Up

Small Ritual

Is that too much blue and purple?

Is that an excessive amount for a beginner? I tend to buy more things than I actually have room for and then have to search for places to put excess plants =:)

Would mixing those colors with my roses be a major faux pas?

Would those colors be visible across the yard?

Yikes that's a lot of questions.............

Any hints or tips would be welcome =:)
