Joe Pye Weed & Bees

I've been a little concerned as I have seen very few bees this year. Last year I had lots.

I went out to have a look at my various blooms, and discovered a wonderful surprise on my Joe Pye Weed.

There were between 12-14 bumblebees having a great time :)

I've never seen that many bumblebees in one place before! Awesome!

How's your bee population??

Our population seems healthy. We have stacks of little native black bees in the spring, I don't know what kind but I guess I could look it up because I took a good photo of one once. The bumblebees love my verbascum so I grow it at home and at work. Sometimes customers complain about the bees but more often people rave about how awesome they are. :) I see honeybees around occasionally but mostly native bees.

Glad you have some bees. I was about to say they are all in my garden. ;D I have lots of bee plants so there are almost too many. JK I don`t know one bee from another but I have the big fat bumblebees.
