costulo genovese zucchini

Costulo genovese zucchini is a stealth zucchini. It's a lovely big plant but most of the zucchini I saw were small and rotting at the ends. My other plants were kicking out 6 inch zucchinis daily. I went out the other day and found a half dozen a foot long and three inches in diameter. The small zuchinnis look just like the stems until they fill out.

I really don't know of this zucchini...anything special?

What you have it's blossom end rot from calcium deficiency and
uneven moisture level.
I have this every year...I make up by planting more, have around
12 plants and harvest daily about a half dozen, I don't let them
grow huge...about a foot long so the inside has no seeds and
everything can be used.

Some people say it's special. The plant is about 20% larger than the other varieties (generic) I have. The faster growth may have something to do with the duds. All the plants are planted in compost. The fruit is ribbed and lighter green than the other plants. I didn't notice a lot of difference in flavour or texture.

Thanks for reminding me about watering. The bed has been moist everytime I checked except yesterday. It's finally dried out from the rain.
