OH WOW...I have one but I think it need's a male for pollination. I had some berries but mostly all abort. Do you have more then one bush? Does yours have thorns? If so, it will be hard to pick, then...some people cut some branches off, then put it in the freezer until frozen, then you can knock the berries off. I planted some seedless type this spring, some come up but it will be a long howl.
Seabuckthorn berries are loaded with vitamin C. about 6 times higher then Oranges, some people juice them and add sugar for a drink or mix into other juices.
Yes for Seabuckthorn you do need a male and female and I have one of each. I find the thorns on the female aren't all that bad. I also have one tree I'm not sure what it is. Blooms like the male but has different leaf and deadly thorns. About 2 inches long. Keep wanting to cut it down but it's really quite pretty. Will have to check the website and see what I can do. They have quite a nice smell when they are all ripe. These are last years berries. More than that per stem this year.
Read the thread in Fruits etc and if you want to make juice for the fruit festival you can have all the berries you want as I most likely will let the birds get them. Will give you a good idea of what you can do with them as you're waiting for yours to grow.
Thanks allot for the offer! I can get some local here if I want some, for now I use the edible mountain ash and chokecherry for mixing into apple juice.
