datura seed pods

This is the first year I grew some daturas, they did great! I think they are daturas. Datura flowers hang down right? The blooms on these plants are more upright. Would they be Brugmansia then? I have lots of seed pods. From the information I have been reading, the pods turn brown and then crack open, is that right? The seed pods on mine are still green but they are cracking open and the seeds are brown. Are those still good to use? Marg

Daytura can reseed themselves in the right environment. Kinda like cosmos can.

Mine were really nice this year - way bigger than I thought they'd be, and blooming almost constantly all summer!
