Hosta as a houseplant?

I just came upon the principal sitting on the floor of her office repotting some plants. She has a hosta that she thought she'd like to use as a houseplant. I told i hadn't ever heard of anyone doing that, but would ask. Anyone have an answer? I'd put it outside myself because i don't take care of houseplants very well, but that's just me. :)

According to the experts on the hosta forum, they absolutely need a cold dormant period, so they would not be a candidate for growing indoors. I understand the temptation, though.

Okay - will let her know. Thanks, Marie!
