A.) I didn't plant it(not that i remember, anyway).
B.) It's kind of pretty
So therefore it must be a noxious weed, right?
Not sure what this is

Looks like purslane to me. Yes, it is a weed but edible and relatively easy to remove by hand. It has a savory, slightly tart flavour - I don't care for it.

Isn't purslane the thicker leaved weed that has kind of burgundy stems, and it stays quite close to the ground?

Can you take the picture closer?

RE: Another 'what the heck is this' question, cont'd..

Hey, me again.

There's a website from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs.

www.omafra.gov.on.ca

If you search purslane you'll see a picture, although it's not a great one. If you can't take a closer picture of yours, I'm fairly certain that you'll know the "feel" of purslane if you've ever pulled it. It's got that succulent feel and it's one of those weeds that's kind of fun to pull. Hmmm. I think pulling chickweed is fun in small doses, too, so.....

Warning - I really may not have a clue. Believe my opinion at your own risk, LOL !

I've had purslane in my vegetable gardens and this isn't it. This is a nice moundy plant and the lighter yellowish centres on the top leaves make it look like it's glowing. I'll try to get a picture from the front of it rather than the top to show the shape of it.

Looks a lot like chickweed to me but whatever it is, I have tons of it growing all over my yard! I just let it grow unless it is invading something. :)

I think it's a weedy Spurge species - my guess would be Euphorbia amygdaloides.

I agree. It is a spurge. Marg

Funny, that's exactly what i was thinking - that it looked like a euphorbia! I'm nog sure if it's exactly Euphorbia amygdaloides - it's quite small, only about 8 inches high and maybe a foot wide, and the leaves are tiny. But i'm sure it's something along that line.
