So how are your crops doing in that temperature? I think I remember you're growing turnips, kale,......?? What else?

Are you providing extra light?

I see that Elliot Coleman is from Maine, so he has a totally different climate near the coast, than you do. Are you just using methods of his that you think will work here, and trying them out ?

Turnips, kale, bok choy and radishes. So far, everything is doing well. I suppose the bok choy will be the first to croak when it gets too cold.
No extra light.
Their mid-winter weather is pretty similar to our Novembers, so I'm fairly confident I can harvest everything (not necessarily grow) up to the end of November. As for Dec, Jan and Feb, I'm going to just leave a few plants to see if they come back in the spring :)

Well, I just got back from checking the garden. Even some bok choy outside the greenhouse, in a cloche, survived -14 degrees (around -10 inside the cloche) and actually looks healthy. I never knew Chinese cabbage was so tolerant of cold.
