Lily Order Planting Now?

Hi There.....Help Please!

I couldn't resist Vesey's 50% off Lily offer and am looking for advice on planting or not planting the following in the ground:

Orientals
-Hot Lips
-Le Reve

Hybrid Orientals
-Sorbonne
-Scheherazade
-Muscadet

Trumpet -Pink Perfection

Border Lily -Pink and Red

Double Asiatic
-Double Pleasure
-Elodie
-Fata Morgana
-Sphinx

Hybrid Asiatic
-Jacqueline
-Lennox
-Landini

Hybrid Tiger
-Red Twinkle
-Rose

Turks Cap -Purple and Red

I am picking the order up from the Post Office this afternoon. My weather in Thunder Bay is calling for above average temps for at least 2 weeks...but who know for sure. Ground is still very workable. Or would you recommend planting in pots with good drainage or moist in the fridge for a few months then planting up....Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much,
Kelly

I'd put them into the ground, Kelly. I'm no expert, but i've planted tulips in November and they were okay. Give the Orientals some extra protection, though.

I love Muscadet - very pretty!

Thanks Marcia
Will start planting them this evening after work. Is a thick layer of leaves okay for protection? Also, planning on planting them fairly deep...like 8" or so. Love the Muscadet!

They should be about 8" deep so that's good. I use leaves for mulch and that works fine. Good luck!
