I finally picked them all yesterday from the low tunnels. Deliciously sweet (but not overpowering), buttery and tender. I wish I had planted more. The greens were good too but after a while I got fed up of de-aphid-ing them for consumption.

The kale and radishes also fared very well. Bok choy - not so much. It was starting to go mushy from the repeated freeze/thaw cycles, so it means I left them out way too late.

Glad to hear your crop did well. As they say "three out of four ain't bad".

So, do the snowballs still taste like a turnip, just milder?
Or are they more like a squash?

Still like a turnip but way milder. I've always disliked turnips but I've made a definite exception for this one :) Of course, the cool weather probably played a role too.
