It's possible they might not be fertilized or not mature. But I have seen different colours and sizes in lupine seeds and they germinated. You could always nick a couple now and test them for germination.

I found the best time to harvest Lupine seeds is when the pods are brown and dry. They don't seem to ripen well in the pod if cut too early.

Beegood, they were grey and fuzzy, so that's too early? I've gotten seeds from them before but i don't remember the condition of the pods. I'll try sprouting some just to see. If they don't grow, there's always next year!
