plectranthus problems

I have cuttings of several species of plectranthus rooted and growing well, all except the most common type. I think it is plectranthus coleoides 'Variegatus', or Swedish Ivy.

I have never been able to get this one to thrive or even survive. It starts off well and gradually declines until it dies. I know it is readily available in the spring, but I like it and can't understand why I can't get it to survive in the house. The other species I have are P. ciliatus and 2 others I can't identify. One is just plain waxy green and the other is lime and dark green. They are all thriving. I have them under lights.

Is anyone else keeping this plant alive, and if so, what's your secret?

I have lots of shade in my yard, so I favor foliage type plants and try to keep slips of my favorites over the winter. I hope someone can solve this mystery. Thanks
