Speaking of favorite hand protectors (there should be a forum.... protecting gardeners from their garden :) ) .... has anyone tried any of the creme garden gloves? the stuff you put on your hands and wash off after gardening? Like green glove tm ?

I use Liquid Gloves. I think it helps keep moisture loss down, but a whole day digging and planting still dries out my hands.

I tried the moisture gloves and they worked extremely well until my little dog ate one of them. Let's just say it was not a pleasant time. Not sure what the attraction was, but the other one tempted her like a giant steak.

Anyway, not sure where I got them, they were a little pricey, but I would consider getting them again. Especially since my hands are so dry right now.

I've tried Gloves in a Bottle, a very thick lotion. It worked, but the smell wasn't very pleasant. I've put Bag Balm on too, before going out to do battle. It works (and is pretty cheap as a little goes a long way), but it is petroleum jelly-based, sooo...just a little gooey and I'd rather use it afterwards. I've found that nearly any goopy lotion will do in a pinch, but I try to avoid anything with a heavy or flowery scent...to much bee bait!
