Anyone growing Meconopsis?

(Himalayan blue poppy) I brought one back from Alaska, where they grow beautifully. It bloomed for on heavenly summer, then died. I think it is just too dry & hot here for it, even though I watered it frequently. You in the PNW should be able to grow it. The color is phenomenal (sp?) and well worth whatever it takes to grow it.

Anyone know where to get them. I tried Heronswood nursery but they were all out.

Try sowing- its easy! Where I live they are not a weed but almost..shady cool place -just a little morning sun if you live in a hot area
Good luck

I recently ordered 3 from Van Bourgondien. I received them a few days ago, they came in 3 inch pots. I am going to replant them to a gallon pots, plant them in the pot in a sunny part of my garden and then move them in pot to a shady place when it gets really hot and humid in mid summer.

Here is a link that might be useful: Link to Van Bourgondien Himalayan 'Blue Poppy'
