putting raised beds in with sprinklers

I have just bought a home with a large lawn and well/sprinkler system. The entire yard is grass. Any advice on how to put in raised beds with the sprinkler system in place? Would I shut off a zone? I am worried about then having a patches of dead grass that aren't getting water. Appreciate any advice!

Map out the zones so you know which valve runs what part of the yard, AND identify where each sprinkler waters. You can't run drip for a raised bed and sprinklers for the lawn on the same zone - they need different watering schedules.

You can shut individual sprinklers off or cap them- at the outer edges of the zone is easiest - and supply water from elsewhere.

OR you can convert an entire zone to drip irrigation to supply several raised beds where the lawn used to be. There are adapters to convert sprinkler to drip tube.
