Can anyone tell me anything about this bulb please.

Are you thinking of Sprekelia formosissima? It's a bit like a Nerine but it comes from Mexico. Plant it in similar conditions - neck out of the ground, moderate soil, well-drained, good sun. Hardy for zones 9 and 10. Can be susceptible to Narcissus fly attacks but does produce offsets for growing on. I really like them but I'm at the 'nursing an offset up to size' stage so I can't actually brag that I've flowered one yet.

If you ask on the Oz forum you'll probably find someone who can help you source bulbs.
