dwarf weeping cherry tree

I started this tree from a soot that I bought. after a month it started losing its leaves and the ones remaining are turning brown. The tree is still alive but seems to be wilting and almost all the leaves are gone or brown. Do they go dormat after leaving out? It shows no sign of being infected by insects or any fungus. I was told it will come back and not to worry, but have never seen a tree do this. Anyone know what to do?

Stop watering it so much. Don't fertilize. Make sure it's in a soil that drains quickly. Move it to the shade for now until it starts to push new growth. Al

My niece planted a dwarf grafted weeping cherry tree, it maybe about 5 foot tall, she said, that it will never get any taller. Yet I have not found any like that. Most get at least 15 foot tall. I was wondering where to look, or if the nursery told her wrong.
