Snapdragons make me smile

My hobby has always been gardening, so after retiring from a steel mill, I worked in a local garden center. I would help people choose plants, repot their houseplants, etc.
One morning, a very charming Chinese woman asked me to help her choose some plants for her first garden in the U.S.A.
She had a limited knowledge of English, so I had to explain the plant names, etc.
One of the plants I chose was a snapdragon. She didn't quite comprehend the "snap' and 'dragon', so I showed her what I was shown by my mother when I was a child. I squeezed the flower and made the 'dragon' 'snap'. Well, it has been several years since then, and I can still hear her giggle when I pass a snapdragon plant. |

| Me too. Can you believe that some children never had that experience? |

| That reminds me: I also love to look at the Larkspur and see the "bunny head and ears". I was an easily entertained child. My parents entertained me so easily. They could have sent me to the movies for 10 cents!! OOps, I just gave away my "old Fogieness"!!! |

| My neighbors 12 yr. old had never seen that either, and they were in his yard! He was delighted. Snapdragons are fun. Sandy |
