Hose faucet extender

This is for those of you who under the "Dumbest Place to Plant Something" thread complained about having to fight thorny bushes to get to the hose spigot. I bought one of those extenders for mine and it's great! My spigot was about 6 inches above ground and behind a shrub beneath a window. The extender is about 4-feet long with a spigot attached at one end and a hose thread on the other. It has a cutoff valve and a small spike to drive into the ground out in a spot away from the bushes. It works really well. Bought it through a garden supply catalog.

I second that -- we bought one of the longer ones (10') and set it up so I could have my watering hoses in a central point rather than an inconvenient hike up the back stairs. Next time I'll put more thought into where I want my backyard faucet, LOL!

They're available through Jerry Baker's site, as well as Gardener's Supply, among many places. Definitely worth the cost for improved convenience.
