Favorite non-electric or electronic invention?

What is your favorite invention, that doesn't plug in (no cell phones), and is something you use every day, or it makes your life easier? Could be something like a Swiffer or a good pair of pruning shears for example.

Mine is the doggie door! With 7 dogs, I'd spend all my time letting dogs in and out if it weren't for the doggie door.

Benedryl, both cream & pills.
For those of us who are allergic to a big variety of plants, animals, dust, mold, etc, both utside & inside, it's a life-saver. I wish they'd had it when I was a kid.

I second the doggie door. I especially like the remote control kind that only open for pets with the collar sensors.

Eyeglasses, so I can see just what the heck I'm doing.

1.Scotch tape.
2.Duct tape
3.Hot glue & gun
4.Super Glue.

Start with #1, if that won't hold it, move on the #2 and then #3 and #4.

If it still won't hold it together.......there's the trash can and I promise not to tell.

Very good, PeaBee! I'm going to put that advice on a sticky note. If it doesn't stay up, I'll go to #1.

My wirebender for making hooks and plant supports, and my grape-picker snips that do far more than the maker ever intended (quick weeding, making holes in yoghurt pots, etc), and my diamond honing slip to restore the snips.

For the garden, without question, the long handled spading fork. I'm too tall for the short ones but any do a better job, are far quieter, and are much safer exercise than a rototiller. Cultivating peace.
