Tulips in a Pot

| I planted tulips in a pot. A week ago October 1 2004. Gave them a good watering when planted. Do I keep the pot watered during the winter? I also want to leave the pot on my deck. I was told that I couldn't do that. I needed to bring it in the house for the winter. Any advice?
