 o
maroon berries crabapple?

Hi,
I'm in Colorado and I keep seeing recently planted street
trees that look like a crabapple--small green leaves but have beautiful satin maroon colored berries on them.
Berries are about as big as a thumbnail, sliced open have a
little pit in them, white or greenish flesh inside.
I called a tree farm, they thought it might be an inedible plum or cherry. Any ideas? I called the City and they said
they have so lots of crabapples they don't which it would be!

RE: maroon berries crabapple?

maybe if you posted a photo on your regional forum (is there a Colorado forum?), someone will recognize the trees.

they sound gorgeous!
