WOW! That's some serious pruning. Do you expect to get any fruit off that tree this summer? I've just started growing figs and am curious. Thanks for your info.

What would have been the disadvantage if you had cut it a foot higher (or what was the need to cut it so low)?

I want the plants to be low and wide for easy picking, to I start pruning them very short, to force branching. They are hill planted, so using a ladder s out.
