Fiddle Leaf Pruning Tips

Hello Forum! I'm hoping for some advice for my fiddle leaf fig. I've grown it from one small leaf and it is now about 3 feet tall with healthy foliage, all on one stalk. The foliage runs all the way down the stalk to the very base. The stalk is somewhat flimsy and leans towards the light, but is getting woodier and sturdier at the base.

I'd like to encourage branching and ultimately I want more of a tree shape, but I dont want to do anything too early and compromise the health of my little plant. Should I prune from the top to encourage branching? Can I do this now in winter or in early spring or should I wait until June?

If I cut off from the top 2/3 leaves, can I reroot that portion?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
Alina
