fastest way to get a new hardy chicago to bear

| i have 3 choices; 1: buy a potted plant from edible landscape, 2: buy a bare root from raintree, 3: start from a cutting from my existing hc
which approach will yield results the fastest?

| I bought mine from EL and it produced and ripened 12 figs the first year. We had a REALLY gold summer so the flavor wasn't great, but it did better than anything else I had. C.J. |

| I would opt for the first choice for same reason as C.J. From my experience, I know EL sells a reliable product. Some believe EL's Hardy Chicago is the same as one version of Sals fig. Dan |

| Don't forget about Rolling River Nursery. They send nice 3-4' whips in deep tree pots with an amazing root system.The three trees I bought last season branched well and grew 7-8' and bore fruit too(although it was later in the season). They will bear at their normal time this season. You'll be pleased with what you get for the money. Tim |
