Those are breba figs which may or may not ripen come spring (depending on weather) when plant is put outdoors .

Here in past years i have seen them appear on plants in garage in February left some on and in spring they fell off.
Waste of the plants resources here in our cold area in
humble opinion.

Some have made it in past years depending on spring weather as i was curious and left some on.
Nowadays i just remove them early on so plant can concentrate its energy for the main crop that first appears in month of June.

My thought is that your basement is too warm. That's why breba are appearing this early. The leaves are soon to follow. Then what are you going to do? Can't take it outside until April. You'd better buy some grow lights or find a cooler spot. But it's really too late for cooler. It's going to grow before April.

Your plant really would do better in the garage, if you can keep the temp above 20-25 degrees or so. Your basement is too warm.

There could be a number of reasons that you lost the previous one covered in the garage, too cold or too dry being the most likely. The plant, even dormant in the garage, needs a little water every 3-4 weeks, just enough to keep the soil barely moist.
