Should I let them keep their leaves?

I have a few in the ground, and they all lost their leaves. I also have a few in 5-gallon containers. Since I have a bunch of tropicals overwintering in my garage under a metal halide light, I brought those figs in as well. Is it worth it to keep them there? If I leave them outdoors, they'll go through their normal cycle of losing leaves in winter and growing them back. Would keeping them inside under the light (mid 60s F), and allowing them to keep their leaves, give those plants any advantage in growth come spring time when they go outdoors?

Thanks,
