Hi modern miss, I grew up eating Kadota figs nearly every summer at my grandparents' house in Fresno, CA. They are by far my favorite fig flavor to this day! a few years ago I ordered a Janice Seedless Kadota from Bay Laurel Nursery I think, because I live in a semicoastal zone which will not ripen true Kadotas properly. Janice Seedless is supposed to be better for cooler climates. Well, when I got my small crop of JSK they were so much less flavorful and not very sweet, I felt duped. My advice is not to bother with JSKs, There are many other figs which are so much better! if you live like me in a cooler summer climate, I can recommend Peter's Honey, Lattarula, and Black Jack instead of JSK.
